USPTO Recognizes Ballard Spahr, 10 Patent Professionals for Pro Bono Service

Ballard Spahr and 10 of its patent attorneys and patent agents have been awarded for their pro bono service by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

The 10 patent professionals have received 2022 Patent Pro Bono Achievement Certificates for “volunteer[ing] significant time and effort to help financially under-resourced inventors and small businesses protect their ideas, positioning them to more fully realize their ideas and dreams.”

Sandra Sciascia-Zirger, Ph.D., was recognized for having provided more than 50 hours of service each year for the past five years, and Charley F. Brown, Kenneth C. Bruley, Michele A. Kliem, Ph.D., and Sommer S. Zimmerman, Ph.D., were recognized for having contributed 50 hours of pro bono service per year for four of the past five years.
