Jamie K. Major is an associate in the firm’s Intellectual Property Department, focusing on patents. She is a member of the Mechanical Technologies Team within the Patents Group. Jamie represents clients before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. She has experience working on patent prosecution matters, drafting validity and non-infringement opinions, performing clearance searches, and drafting claim constructions.
Prior to her role at Ballard Spahr, Jamie was a licensed professional engineer and practiced civil engineering for over four years. She was a part of the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s Patent Experience Extern Program and worked as a civil engineering trainee with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. While in law school, Jamie served as an intern at the U.S. International Trade Commission, where she researched law and case law for issues in Section 337 investigations and drafted internal memoranda.
