Lenora “Leni” Plimpton is a trusted counselor and trial attorney with a labor and employment focus. She is based in Denver and maintains an active practice in Utah. Leni advises clients on all aspects of employment law, including crisis management; contract disputes; breach of fiduciary duties; drafting and enforcing confidentiality agreements; termination decisions & employee discipline; theft of trade secrets and failure to return company property; preventing and addressing claims of workplace discrimination, harassment, and retaliation; reductions in force; wage claims; misclassification issues; administration of leave laws; disability accommodations; religious accommodations; and more. Leni acts as lead counsel on employment and commercial litigation matters in all aspects of the case, including pre-litigation, mediation, trial, and appeal. Leni has particular experience in issues arising under the Federal Arbitration Act, and she is an experienced appellate attorney who has argued and briefed cases before the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Prior to joining Ballard Spahr, Leni served as a law clerk for three justices on the Colorado and Utah Supreme Courts, after which she practiced at an AmLaw 100 international firm and later was an equity partner at a small Denver boutique.
