Dee Spagnuolo

Dee is well versed in the policies, procedures, and best practices necessary to promote the safety and protection of children in educational, religious, and recreational settings. In the compliance and training space, Dee brings her deep investigative experience to bear and is able to mitigate potential risk through policies and training programs that seek to avoid issues before they arise.

For nearly a decade, Dee has represented members of the Women’s National Hockey Team on issues of pay equity and has served as outside general counsel for the Professional Women’s Hockey Players Association since its inception in 2018. Dee also counsels corporate, educational, and nonprofit clients with respect to their internal and external diversity and inclusion policies and practices.

As Ballard’s Partner in Charge of Attorney Career Advancement, Dee is responsible for the recruitment, professional development, compensation, evaluation, and promotion of approximately 350 lawyers across the firm's 15 offices. She also serves as a member of Ballard Spahr's Diversity Council.

Prior to law school, Dee worked as a college counselor for at-risk youth and as a research assistant for the Say Yes to Education Foundation. She also served for two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Dominican Republic where her work focused on educational settings. In college, Dee captained three varsity sports teams and earned All-American athletic honors, and recently was inducted into the Bowdoin College Athletic Hall of Honor. Dee currently serves as a trustee to Bowdoin College and will commence a term as Vice-Chair of the Board on July 1, 2024.
