Lisa M. Zwally—a litigator with more than two decades of experience in Delaware courts, including the Court of Chancery—has joined Ballard Spahr’s Litigation Department, Securities Enforcement and Corporate Governance Litigation Group, and Delaware office as partner, firm Chair Peter Michaud announced today.
“Lisa’s extensive experience in Delaware courts makes her an ideal fit for our expanding Litigation bench and Wilmington office,” Peter said. “News of her joining the firm is sure to be greeted with enthusiasm by clients, both hers and ours. We are pleased to welcome her to the firm.”
In her practice, Lisa focuses on corporate and commercial litigation, representing business entities, officers, directors, and investors in the Delaware Court of Chancery, as well as other Delaware state and federal courts. Lisa advises boards of directors and special committees with respect to corporate and fiduciary litigation and governance issues and has clients across an array of industries, including energy, insurance, media, pharmaceuticals, and private equity.
The 370 attorneys of Ballard Spahr’s Litigation Department vigorously represent clients across the country in civil, criminal, and administrative matters. They work tirelessly to achieve our clients’ goals at every stage and in every type of dispute and are regularly cited for excellence in leading legal publications like Chambers USA, Benchmark Litigation, and The Legal 500.
In Wilmington—where the firm moved into newly remodeled office space in March 2026—Lisa will work alongside fellow Chancery Court litigators Elizabeth A. Sloan and David J. Margules, as well as Litigation Department members who are part of the firm’s Bankruptcy, Creditors’ Rights, and Restructuring, Commercial Litigation and Dispute Resolution, and White Collar Defense and Investigations teams. She joined from Greenberg Traurig.
“Ballard Spahr’s Litigation Department is growing, and its Delaware team members are busier than ever,” Lisa said. “Businesses need strong representation in Delaware, and I’m looking forward to elevating the service I can provide to clients even further.”
