More than 20 Ballard Spahr attorneys are included on the annual Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll
The D.C. Courts established the Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll in 2011 to recognize the contributions made by lawyers providing pro bono legal services to individuals and families who cannot afford counsel and to disadvantaged small businesses and community-based nonprofits. The Honor Roll has been issued annually since 2011, with support from the D.C. Access to Justice Commission, the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center, and the D.C. Bar.
Lawyers who complete 50 or more hours of pro bono service in a year are eligible for the Honor Roll; those contributing 100 or more pro bono hours are eligible for the High Honor Roll. Ballard Spahr honorees include lawyers based in the firm’s Washington, D.C., office, as well as those based in other offices who are authorized to perform pro bono work in D.C.
The firm’s D.C. office is known for its deep ties to the community and robust involvement through public service, civic engagement, and pro bono representation of underserved clients. Firm-wide, Ballard Spahr’s nationally recognized pro bono program provides more than 50,000 hours of pro bono legal service each year to help clients who need legal services but are unable to pay, including individuals, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations.
