Brittany Clarke is a Litigation associate who focuses her practice on commercial litigation and dispute resolution. Prior to joining Ballard Spahr, Brittany worked in the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) as an honors trial attorney. In this role, Brittany led civil rights investigations into educational institutions, monitored compliance with settlement agreements and consent decrees, and managed case teams. She developed case strategies and drafted documents related to the litigation, investigation, and enforcement of educational institutions’ compliance with federal civil rights statutes and regulations.

While attending law school, Brittany gained experience as a legal intern for the DOJ Civil Rights Division’s Educational Opportunities Section in Washington, D.C., and the Education Law Center in Philadelphia, PA, as well as through a summer associate position at a Chambers-ranked law firm.

Brittany also draws on her prior experience as a middle school mathematics and special education teacher to solve complex issues strategically and efficiently.
