February 23, 2026

Aleksandr Altshuler has joined Ballard Spahr’s Litigation Department and Consumer Financial Services Group as counsel, firm Chair Peter Michaud announced today. Aleks is based in the firm’s New York office.

“Clients look to us to help solve their most pressing issues, and attorneys like Aleks make us that go-to resource,” said Daniel JT McKenna, who co-leads the Consumer Financial Services Group alongside John D. Socknat. “Aleks has the skill and background our clients look for, and we’re pleased to welcome him to the team.”

Aleks litigates claims and issues related to credit cards and mortgage loans, as well as other commercial and consumer financial products, in state and federal courts. His matters have concerned the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Truth in Lending Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the Real Estate Settlement and Procedures Act, and local consumer protection laws and regulations.

Aleks is the second attorney to join the Consumer Financial Services Group in the space of a month, following Adam Maarec in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.

“Ballard is widely regarded for its Consumer Financial Services capabilities,” Aleks said. “I’m joining one of the industry’s strongest teams, and my clients will benefit from the unparalleled knowledge of my new colleagues and the resources of a national firm.”
