Aleksandr Altshuler is an experienced consumer financial services litigation attorney who defends clients in matters involving the Real Estate Settlement and Procedures Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Truth in Lending Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, related regulations, and various local consumer protection laws.
Prior to joining Ballard Spahr, Aleksandr worked at a Chambers-ranked law firm, where he litigated lender liability claims and issues related to mortgage loans in state and federal courts, negotiated multi-case settlements, and handled matters on appeal to the Appellate Division.
While attending law school, Aleksandr gained additional experience through a legal externship with the New York State Office of the Attorney General’s Real Estate Finance Bureau, legal internships with the Housing Partnership Development Corporation and the Employment Law Clinic for Brooklyn Legal Services, as well as a global tax and statutory internship with the International Baccalaureate Organization.
