Shanae T. Jones is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Department who focuses her practice on labor and employment matters. She has previously worked as a legal intern and summer associate at Ballard Spahr, supporting associates and partners on litigation matters by performing extensive research on a variety of complex substantive and procedural matters, and assisting in drafting discovery requests, responses to discovery requests, and practical motions.

Shanae gained additional legal experience as a legal intern for General Counsel of McCormick & Company, Inc., where she researched and analyzed Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) laws on a national scale.

Prior to beginning her legal career, Shanae worked as a child welfare social worker for the Maryland Department of Human Services and a therapist at an outpatient mental health clinic.

Pro Bono Experience

During her time as a summer associate and legal intern, Shanae worked on several cases helping clients who were sentenced to life as juveniles obtain a reduction in sentence or release under Maryland’s Juvenile Restoration Act.
