Elliot Imani Griffin is an associate in the Litigation Department who focuses her practice on labor and employment matters. In her practice, she represents employers in federal and state court actions involving discrimination, retaliation, harassment, restrictive covenants, and breach of contract claims. She also assists employers with developing workplace policies and drafting employee handbooks.

Elliot also advises higher education institutions and government entities about traditional labor matters including union organizing campaigns, contract negotiations, and unfair labor practices. She represents universities and affiliated health care institutions in grievance arbitrations involving disputes regarding employee discipline and contract interpretation.

During law school, Elliot interned with Exelon Corporation, a Fortune 100 energy company, where she researched recent National Labor Relations Board decisions to assess how they would impact Exelon's policies. She also wrote demand letters to address fake websites that were allegedly infringing upon the mark of Exelon and its subsidiaries, drafted motions, and assisted in the preparation for Pennsylvania Utility Commission hearings. Elliot worked at Ballard Spahr as a summer associate where she drafted memos, conducted background research of plaintiff experts, and edited and updated chapters of an eDiscovery textbook.

Prior to law school, Elliot worked in crisis communications and government relations. In that role, she created and implemented communications plans for clients across the country and monitored local and state legislation pertaining to client's interests.

Pro Bono Experience

Elliot maintains an active pro bono practice, serving as a child advocate for children who have been adjudicated dependent by the Philadelphia Family Court. She also represents inmates in prisoner civil rights litigation.
