Lexi Chapman is an experienced mid-level litigator at Ballard Spahr. She has litigated individual and class action claims related to business disputes, privacy and cybersecurity matters, and construction and real estate disputes. Lexi has experience assisting both large and small organizations as they navigate claims relating to the Telephone Consumer Privacy Act (TCPA), the Federal Wiretap Act, as well as the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) and the Colorado Privacy Act (CPA). She has also assisted with the preparation and submission of appeals to both the Colorado and Nebraska Supreme Courts. Within her first three years of practice, Lexi took depositions, first-chaired hearings, navigated complex discovery matters, and prepared numerous dispositive motions for submission. She is equally comfortable in front of the court and in alternative dispute resolution settings. Lexi believes in taking a client-centered approach to practicing law, and she seeks to develop strong, communicative relationships to help clients meet their end goal.
Outside of her primary work, Lexi spends considerable time managing pro bono matters and serving her community. She has been a key member of the Taylor Ranch litigation team—representing a class of more than 2,000 individuals in a decades-long dispute related to a land grant dating back to the 1860s—and also regularly represents pro bono clients in connection with asylum and other immigration matters. In 2021, Lexi was part of a team that won the Alan J. Davis award for outstanding pro bono representation. Lexi also serves as co-chair of the Colorado Hispanic Bar Association’s public policy committee and as Ballard Spahr’s co-representative to the Legal Aid Foundation of Colorado.
