Nasir Ahmed is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Department, focusing his practice on labor and employment matters. He has experience counseling employers on a range of personnel matters, including terminations, noncompete and non-solicitation issues, fiduciary duties, and wage-and-hour compliance, and has researched and advised on trade secret misappropriation and restrictive covenant issues. Nasir has represented employers before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), including drafting statements of position, offers of proof, and post-hearing briefs, and has appeared on behalf of employers in related proceedings before the NLRB and the Arizona Attorney General’s Civil Rights Office.
Nasir also brings a strong litigation foundation to his practice, having handled commercial disputes spanning breach of contract, data breach class actions, consumer arbitration, and fraud matters. This experience informs his approach to employment litigation and dispute resolution more broadly.
Prior to joining Ballard Spahr, Nasir was a commercial litigator in Portland, and before that, a litigation and labor and employment associate at a Chambers-ranked law firm in Phoenix. During law school, Nasir developed experience as a legal intern for the Office of Special Masters/Vaccine Claims at the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, as a legal intern for the Honorable Jimmie V. Reyna of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and as a legal extern for the Honorable Andrew G. Schopler, U.S. Magistrate Judge for the Southern District of California.
