Ballard Spahr Partner and San Francisco Office Managing Partner Stephane A. Sheridan has been selected by the Los Angeles Times as one of its 2026 Consumer Goods Business Visionaries.
Inclusion in the list is reserved for strategic advisers in California whose work contributes to keeping the region’s consumer sector innovative and resilient. The list recognizes leaders across a range of industries, from apparel and fashion to food and beverage, personal care, and household products, for their success guiding clients through high-level strategy and decision-making that supports brands’ longevity and success. Stephanie and fellow honorees were selected for their noteworthy accomplishments over the past two years, a consistent record of strong career leadership, measurable impact on industry growth, and demonstrated commitment to community involvement beyond their own organizations.
Stephanie serves as leader of Ballard Spahr’s Retail & E-Commerce Industry Team. She was among the earliest lawyers to build a retail-focused practice aimed at providing a “one-stop shop” for retailers throughout the industry. She has represented many of the most iconic brands in retail—from luxury home builders to department stores to emerging online startups, as well as hotels and restaurants—in defending hundreds of consumer class actions. These have covered deceptive pricing and false advertising allegations, federal and state privacy laws (CIPA, CEMA, VPPA, Song Beverly, FACTA), “Made in the USA” claims, automatic renewal laws, gift card law, call-recording law claims, ADA website and Braille access cases, and California’s Proposition 65.
