Ballard Spahr’s San Francisco Office opened in 2026 with the addition of a class action litigation team that advises clients in consumer protection, advertising, intellectual property, bankruptcy, employment, and privacy issues. The group includes the leader of the firm’s Retail & E-Commerce Industry Team, a nationally regarded team representing the largest stable of retail and e-commerce clients in the country.

Our San Francisco litigators have defended hundreds of class actions across California and nationwide—including cases under the UCL, CLRA, FAL, TCPA, FCRA, FDCPA, VPPA, and environmental-related matters, including Proposition 65 litigation, PFAS claims, and greenwashing matters. The team also advises clients with regulatory compliance on federal and state laws, as well as developing robust litigation-avoidance strategies.
