Carly Gubernick

Carly Gubernick is an associate in the firm’s Intellectual Property Department who focuses her practice on matters involving patents, trademarks, and copyrights. Carly advises clients on protecting and enforcing their intellectual property rights in a wide range of industries including advanced technology, life sciences, pharmaceutical/biotechnology, fashion, and cosmetics. She researches relevant civil and criminal case law, reviews records, and drafts discovery requests and responses, briefs, memoranda, and motions to assist clients with complex, high-stakes matters. Carly has represented clients in federal court and in arbitration.

Before joining Ballard Spahr, Carly worked in product development for a large medical device company. She also interned in the Department of Human Genetics at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. During her time in law school, Carly was a member of Temple’s National Trial Team and a research editor for Temple Law Review.
