October 30, 2020

Ballard Spahr Partner Hara K. Jacobs, leader of the firm's Trademarks and Copyrights practice, has been named to the Philadelphia Business Journal's "Best of the Bar" list for 2020.

The Best of the Bar award recognizes Philadelphia-area lawyers who have distinguished themselves through the significance of their achievements, scale of their legal results, and effect of their work on the business and larger community, as well as the legal profession. Ms. Jacobs and fellow honorees were recognized at a virtual awards ceremony yesterday and are featured in a special supplement to the October 30 edition of the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Ms. Jacobs is recognized in the Intellectual Property Litigation category. The publication notes that Ms. Jacobs is working on the front lines of virtual litigation trailblazing, with recent successes in two major, ongoing litigation matters that switched to remote proceedings in the spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ms. Jacobs leads Ballard Spahr's Trademarks and Copyrights Group, comprising more than 25 lawyers across the country who help clients across industries develop and protect valuable intellectual property assets worldwide. She regularly represents clients in federal and state courts and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board in cases involving trademarks, trade dress, copyrights, right of publicity, trade secrets, and false advertising. Ms. Jacobs also advises on development and implementation of global branding and enforcement strategies for companies and organizations in a variety of industries including personal defense, outdoor and sporting goods, food and beverage, hospitality, electronics, apparel, and health care.
