On May 24, 2018, President Donald J. Trump signed the Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief, and Consumer Protection Act (the Act) into law. While it does not make the sweeping changes to the Dodd-Frank Act contemplated by other proposals, the Act will nevertheless provide welcome regulatory relief to both smaller and larger financial institutions. However, in some cases, it also provides new consumer protections that institutions will have to address. This webinar will provide an overview of the Act's most significant provisions and discuss their implications for bank and nonbank financial services providers.

Topics include:

  • Changes impacting residential mortgage lending

  • New protections for veterans, student loan borrowers, and consumers generally

  • Eased bank regulatory requirements

  • Effective dates and implementation

  • Who are the Act's real beneficiaries

  • Potential for additional regulatory relief from Congress this year
