Ben Vernon

Ben Vernon is an associate in the firm’s Finance Department, focusing his practice on public finance matters. Ben represents cities, counties, school districts, governmental authorities, 501(c)(3) entities, investment banks and private companies on a variety of tax-exempt and taxable debt financings.

He regularly serves as bond counsel, disclosure counsel, underwriter’s counsel and special tax counsel on governmental bond issues for public infrastructure, higher education, multi-family and affordable housing, and public-private partnership projects. Ben also has extensive experience advising local governments on economic development projects, private incentives and community benefits packages.

  • Bond and disclosure counsel to a local municipality on its issuance of general obligation bonds for the construction of city administrative and public safety facilities.
  • Bond counsel to a local governmental authority on its issuance of revenue bonds for multipurpose infrastructure projects involving tax-exempt and taxable components.
  • Bond and disclosure counsel to a governmental authority on its issuance of special-purpose-local-option sales tax bonds for the construction of governmental facilities and related capital projects.
