Conor H.M. Smith


Conor Smith unravels business disputes for lenders, corporate trustees, general contractors, agribusinesses, and investors in state and federal courts. His past projects include subcontractor disputes, foreclosure litigation, fraud investigation and prosecution, loss recovery, receiverships, commercial mortgage defaults, and insurance coverage matters.

Conor works at all stages of a matter, from pre-pleading dispute resolution, complex electronic discovery management, mediation, and trial to appeal, collections, and judgment enforcement. Throughout his advocacy for a client, Conor applies long-term strategy to shape litigation over its lifetime to achieve clients’ end goals.

  • Part of trial team obtaining eight-figure judgment, jury verdict, and affirmance on appeal for bond trustee against borrower, its principal, and related entities on contract, fraud, fraudulent transfer, and veil-piercing claims
  • Part of trial team obtaining jury verdict on behalf of commodity trading firm related to breaches of a supply contract
  • Negotiated and drafted multiple Miller-Shugart style assignments of claims against insurers in complex multiparty agricultural tort matter
