Emma Shi is an associate in the firm’s Intellectual Property Department who focuses her practice on trademark and copyright matters. She previously worked as a summer associate at Ballard Spahr, where she gained experience conducting legal research and drafting legal documents concerning various practice areas including intellectual property, labor and employment, and transactional matters. During law school, Emma also served as a student extern at a firm acclaimed for its family law practice, and as a legal services coordinator for Philadelphia Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, which provides access to free legal services for underserved artists and arts organizations in the Philadelphia region.

Prior to attending law school, Emma worked in quality assurance at Epic Systems, where she conducted and helped manage functional software testing and test plan documentation, created usability studies for customers, and helped lead internal design reviews of developing software.
