Melissa Rezzag is an associate in the firm’s Finance Department, focusing on commercial finance matters. Prior to joining the firm, she worked as a law clerk drafting and reviewing ancillary documents to loan agreements in solar energy and tax credit transactions.

While attending law school, Melissa worked as a summer associate at Ballard Spahr. She also explored a variety of legal opportunities, including positions at an electric utility company, a family law office, and at the Minnesota Supreme Court.

Melissa devotes significant time to volunteer work. She served as a Certified Student Attorney at the Health Law Clinic of the Mitchell Hamline School of Law, where she assisted low-income Minnesota residents with obtaining health insurance and medical services. Melissa also volunteered at Lawyers for Good Government, the UPLIFT Legal Institute for Teens, Prepare + Prosper, and the U.S. District Court of Minnesota.

Experience 

Representative Matters

  • Represented regional bank in extending senior loan to independent sponsor to finance the simultaneous acquisition of two portfolio companies into a single platform and negotiating intercreditor arrangements with senior subordinated debt holders.
  • Represented a private equity sponsor in securing $25 million credit facility from a national bank, consisting of a term loan, revolving line of credit, and delayed draw facility, to finance a new platform acquisition.

Pro Bono Experience

Melissa’s pro bono experience includes helping Minnesota residents file tax returns through Prepare + Prosper. Melissa also has experience with a variety of immigration matters, including asylum, humanitarian aid, and special immigrant juveniles.
