Chloe Nakaya is a detail-oriented litigator who brings precision and focus to every matter they handle. Their strong writing skills are grounded in editorial experience with the Oregon Law Review and the Oregon State Bar's Debtor-Creditor Section. Chloe was a George V. Powell Scholar at Lane Powell prior to its combination with Ballard Spahr, where they developed a broad appreciation for diverse areas of law.
At Ballard Spahr, Chloe works on commercial landlord-tenant disputes, class action defense, construction matters, and pro bono impact litigation. They address lease violations through careful contract analysis and practical problem-solving, and they support complex litigation work that involves anything from intricate jurisdictional questions to general liability analyses. Chloe represents clients ranging from national corporations to local Oregon enterprises in both state and federal courts. During law school, Chloe served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Thomas Renn of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Oregon, gaining valuable insight into judicial decision-making and the financial realities of running a business.
Outside of work, Chloe enjoys spending time with their wife, usually playing chess or working toward their annual reading goal.
