Samuel Haward is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Department where his practice focuses on securities enforcement and corporate governance litigation matters. Before joining Ballard Spahr, Sam served as a judicial law clerk to Justice Gary F. Traynor of the Delaware Supreme Court.

While attending law school, Sam gained experience through judicial externships at the St. Joseph County Superior Court—Civil Division and the Delaware Court of Chancery. He also interned at the City of Philadelphia Law Department’s Code and Public Nuisance Litigation Unit.

As a 2023 summer associate in Ballard Spahr’s Delaware office, Sam supported firm attorneys by conducting legal research and drafting memos, briefs, and motions for matters before the Delaware Court of Chancery and Delaware Superior Court as well as bankruptcy and white collar defense matters.
