Thomas J. Gallagher IV practices complex commercial litigation with experience in antitrust, civil RICO, breach of contract, fraud, business tort, consumer class action, bankruptcy, and legal malpractice disputes. He also is a member of the firm's Antitrust and Competition Group.

Within the firm, Tom has presented a seminar on the effective management of large document reviews.

Representative Matters

  • Represented a pharmaceutical company in a civil action alleging fraud and RICO claims related to manufacturing practices at one of the company's former manufacturing facilities
  • Represents multiple municipalities and water utilities as plaintiffs in actions claiming that defendants engaged in anticompetitive conduct in connection with the sale of aluminum sulfate, a water treatment chemical
  • Represented a major creditor in the City of Detroit's Chapter 9 bankruptcy
  • Represented a brand-name pharmaceutical manufacturer in Lanham Act litigation brought against a competing generic manufacturer for alleged false advertising of a generic drug
  • Represented a payment card services company in a breach of license suit
  • Represented a large bank in defending a putative consumer class action asserting federal Truth in Lending Act (TILA), federal Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), and RICO claims
  • Represented a real estate investment fund in defending multiple putative class actions asserting RICO claims arising out of its investments in certain real estate development projects
  • Represents a large bank in a professional malpractice case
