Steven Burt is an accomplished attorney and adviser whose experience includes more than eight years in-house at solar energy companies. Steve uses his background as a litigator, executive, and high-level adviser to advocate for and advise clients in litigation, government investigations, regulatory compliance, and government affairs.
In addition, Steve helps companies build and enhance their compliance and risk management programs in consumer protection and other areas. He has experience managing companies’ responses to government investigations, primarily investigations by state attorneys general and consumer protection departments. Through this experience, Steve has developed deep familiarity with investigations: how they start, how they proceed, and how to settle them. His experience has also involved interacting with legislatures, executive agencies, and the judiciary.
Steve previously practiced litigation at Ballard Spahr from 2007 to 2016 before spending more than nine years in high-ranking, in-house roles at solar energy companies as compliance, regulatory, and public policy officer. Steve held roles of increasing responsibility at Vivint, Sunrun, and PosiGen, where he served as Chief Public Policy & Engagement Officer.
