Zhanyl Aidaralieva is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Department who focuses her practice on commercial litigation and dispute resolution. Prior to joining Ballard Spahr, she worked at an Am Law 100 firm, representing clients in commercial litigation. She was responsible for taking depositions, including cross examination of plaintiffs and fact witnesses. Zhanyl also regularly prepared pleadings and dispositive motions such as answers, motions for summary judgment, and motions to dismiss. She previously served as a judicial clerk for the Presiding Chief Judge of the Washington State Court of Appeals.
While attending law school at the University of Iowa, Zhanyl served as a judicial extern in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois and gained additional experience as a research assistant to Professor Diamantis and the university’s data privacy lab. Prior to law school, Zhanyl worked at an AI-enabled Fintech platform and as a paralegal for a national insurance company. She also worked for the American Chamber of Commerce supervising legal contracts, financial transactions with member companies, and the Chamber’s publications.
