Ballard Spahr Litigation Associate Isabella Salomão Nascimento has been named a 2026 Notable Litigation & Trial Attorney by Twin Cities Business. A member of the firm’s Media and Entertainment Law practice group, Isabella’s First Amendment-based litigation practice includes defending against libel/defamation, invasion of privacy, right of publicity, and other speech-related claims across the country; representing news organizations and nonprofits in seeking access to court records; prepublication vetting of both news and entertainment content; advising and defending clients on subpoenas, prior restraint, and privilege issues; and providing guidance on state public records laws. She is also now representing independent journalist Georgia Fort against a federal prosecution brought over Fort’s reporting. Prior to joining Ballard Spahr, Isabella worked as a staff attorney at the American Civil Liberties Union of Minnesota.
