Peter Michaud Elected to Second Three-Year Term as Chair of Ballard Spahr

Peter Michaud has been elected to serve a second three-year term as Chair of Ballard Spahr, a national law firm with more than 750 lawyers in 19 offices across the country, the firm announced. 

With his reelection by a unanimous vote of the firm’s partners, Peter’s second term as firm Chair begins on January 1, 2027, following the completion of his first term, which began on January 1, 2024.

Peter’s ongoing first term has been highlighted by unprecedented firm success, including record-setting firm revenue, a major combination with Lane Powell that added three offices in the Pacific Northwest, and the recent addition of a San Francisco office that is home to one of the nation’s leading retail class action litigation teams.

Prior to becoming firm Chair, Peter served as Chair of the firm’s Business and Transactions Department, a member of its Expanded Board, and Managing Partner of its Minneapolis office. He joined Ballard Spahr through the 2018 merger with Minneapolis-based Lindquist & Vennum. Peter is a private equity and M&A lawyer who has served as lead counsel to major funds and companies.

During his second term, Ballard will continue to go beyond expectations in service to clients, community, and colleagues, Peter said.
