Go West: Ex-CFPB Chief Poised to Make Mark Next in California

California Governor Gavin Newsom recently announced former CFPB Director Rohit Chopra as his pick for the state's newly reorganized Business and Consumer Services Agency. Law360 spoke with Alan Kaplinsky, senior counsel in Ballard Spahr's Consumer Financial Services Group, about Chopra's return to government.

"It's not head of the CFPB, but it's probably the next best thing Chopra could get," Alan said. "He'll really be the top California government official overseeing all consumer protection in the state."
