Steven P. Mehr spoke to Wealth Management Real Estate magazine about what 2023 may look for the CMBS market.
“Borrowers appear to be settling into the new reality of higher commercial mortgage rates and the reduced leverage from lenders,” he said, later noting that "the market will likely provide [single-asset, single-borrower] opportunities for well-positioned single borrowers, as we anticipate that capital will be made available for such transactions."
Mr. Mehr is a member of Ballard Spahr's CMBS Loan Origination team and its Distressed Assets and Opportunities Initiative.
