February 22, 2022

Ballard Spahr Intellectual Property and Litigation Partner Robert Baron has been shortlisted for Managing IP’s 2022 Litigator of the Year award for Pennsylvania. The Managing IP Awards recognize the firms, individuals, and companies “behind the most innovative and challenging IP work of the past year, as well as those driving the international IP market.” The 2022 Managing IP Awards will be presented April 7 in New York City.

Mr. Baron represents clients in some of their most complex, high-stakes, and strategically important disputes. He is the former Vice Chair of Ballard Spahr’s Intellectual Property Department, and the former Head of its Intellectual Property Litigation Group.

This is Ballard Spahr’s latest recognition by this prestigious publication. In 2021, Mr. Baron was the winner of this award, with Trademarks and Copyrights Group leader Hara K. Jacobs being shortlisted for the same award, and Trademarks and Copyrights Partner Susan A. Smith named one of 2021’s Top 250 Women in IP. In addition, Managing IP named Mr. Baron, Ms. Jacobs, Ms. Smith, and six other Ballard Spahr colleagues as IP Stars in 2021.

Ballard Spahr’s Intellectual Property Department has more than 50 professionals, including nearly two dozen registered patent practitioners. Its trial lawyers represent IP owners and accused infringers in courts throughout the country, in national and international arbitration proceedings, and before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board and Trademark Trial and Appeal Board of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
