Class Action Suit Aims to Free All Transgender ICE Detainees

NBC News profiled the pro bono work Leslie John, Matt Kelley, Liz Weissert, and Alexa Levy, all members of Ballard Spahr's Litigation Department, are doing with the Transgender Law Center and Rapid Defense Network. Together, the teams have filed a class action lawsuit seeking the release of transgender migrants from ICE custody, because they are at special risk for contracting COVID-19.
