How Supreme Court’s Janus Decision Could Affect Strategy at the Bargaining Table

The Morning Call spoke to Ballard Spahr Labor and Employment Partner Shannon Farmer about the Supreme Court’s recent Janus v. AFSCME decision, which could affect employers’ approach to contract negotiations, including what leverage unions will have with their companies.

“If, because of Janus, unions have – or are perceived to have – less money in the bank, less support from politicians, or a lack of engaged membership, they may have less power at the table in terms of their ability to put pressure on the employer,” Ms. Farmer said.
