Can State AGs Really Serve as 'Mini-CFPBs'?

American Banker spoke to Chris Willis, a partner in Ballard Spahr’s Consumer Financial Services Group, about states’ efforts to form ‘mini-CFPBs’ to regulate consumer issues.
"All the states were already at capacity in terms of their ability to ramp up their enforcement activity,” Mr. Willis said, “The states are doing as much as they can with constrained budgets and staff, and those constraints have not changed."
