State Privacy Laws Managing the Coming Wave
With the exception of California, the COVID-19 pandemic had a chilling effect on the passage of state privacy laws in 2020, but this pause appears to be ending. Virginia recently enacted a new comprehensive privacy law, and Washington and Florida are poised to follow suit. Other states, such as New York and Oklahoma, have also proposed privacy bills that may become law in 2021. For U.S. businesses and some non-profits, achieving compliance with the looming patchwork of overlapping state laws will present logistical, legal, and technical complexities. In this webinar, we will compare and contrast the new and likely to pass state privacy laws and offer guidance on designing a comprehensive privacy compliance program.
