Ballard Spahr Advises Guru Technologies in a $30 Million Series C Funding Round

April 21, 2020

A team of Ballard Spahr lawyers advised Guru Technologies in a $30 million Series C funding round, which closed today. Partner Gregory L. Seltzer led the firm’s legal team.

Guru Technologies, a knowledge management software company, is one of Philadelphia’s steadiest-growing tech operations. The Series C round was led by Silicon Valley-based venture capital firm Accel—which has also funded Facebook and Spotify—and included Guru’s existing investors Emergence Capital, Thrive Capital, FirstMark Capital, Slack, and Michael Dell’s MSD Capital.

In addition to Mr. Seltzer, the Ballard Spahr team included Partner Brian M. Pinheiro, Associates Kimberly W. Klayman and Jessica Laderman, and paralegal Jonathan H. Evans.

Attorneys in Ballard Spahr’s Emerging Growth and Venture Capital Group have decades of experience helping emerging companies thrive—from entity formation though angel and seed financing, preferred financing rounds, and ultimately through a sale or initial public offering.
