Matthew Lamb is a commercial litigator with a practice emphasis in the areas of mortgage banking and consumer financial services. He regularly defends financial institutions in actions involving state and federal lending statutes, the Uniform Commercial Code, and consumer protection laws, such as the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).

Matt has extensive experience in both state and federal courts representing lenders and servicers in commercial and residential lending disputes, and has obtained dismissals for lenders in many such cases.  He also has experience litigating appeals and petitions for extraordinary writs before the Fourth Circuit, Ninth Circuit, Supreme Court of Virginia, and Supreme Court of Nevada.

Representative Matters

  • Successfully defended mortgage lenders’ security interests in quiet title actions by real estate speculators who purchased residential properties at HOA foreclosure sales
  • Successfully litigated sales and leasing disputes arising under Articles 2 and 2A of the Uniform Commercial Code
  • In a pro bono matter, successfully represented veteran in appeal from denial of disability benefits to U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims
