Representative Matters
- Trial counsel representing a highly-respected international medical research institute as respondent in an arbitration in which the claimant sought an eight-figure royalty payment relating to a breakthrough pharmaceutical. After a nearly 3-week arbitration trial involving witnesses testifying virtually from around the world, the Ballard team won a resounding defense award, with the arbitration panel unanimously finding in favor of Ballard’s client on all claims.
- Trial counsel for major retail pharmacy chain in a jury trial filed by its former General Counsel seeking millions of dollars for abuse of process and civil conspiracy. The jury found in favor of Ballard’s client on all claims.
- Trial counsel for a leading vaccine company in a 10-day ICC arbitration, where the Ballard team successfully defeated a 9-figure claim sought by a licensor that claimed Ballard’s client did not use “diligent efforts” to globally commercialize an anti-viral therapy.
