Douglas M. Fox

Although his practice for his REIT and mutual fund clients often focuses on matters of the corporation laws of Maryland, where many of these entities are domiciled, his broad-ranging experience as a corporate and securities lawyer for clients in other industry groups brings an added perspective to these matters. His special committee assignments have included independent director committees in M&A transactions, litigation committees, and REIT internalization and change in external management transactions, among others.

Doug and his colleagues at Ballard Spahr have acted as counsel for hundreds of equity and debt offerings and other financing transactions, as well as for dozens of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, liquidations, and other similar types of transactions. Doug represents licensors and licensees in complex licensing and co-promotion transactions.
