Emilia McKee Vassallo Appointed to Pennsylvania State Ethics Commission

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro has appointed Ballard Spahr Litigation Partner Emilia McKee Vassallo to the Pennsylvania State Ethics Commission. Her three-year term began on November 1, 2023.

The Pennsylvania State Ethics Commission is an independent state agency charged with enforcing the 1978 Pennsylvania Public Official and Employees Ethics Act. The Ethics Act applies to public officials and employees, and parts of it apply to candidates and nominees for public office.

Ms. McKee Vassallo, a member of the firm’s White Collar Defense/Internal Investigations Group, has conducted internal investigations of sensitive high-profile, matters for major corporations, government agencies, and institutions, including investigations spurred by whistleblower complaints to federal and state agencies. She is a member of Ballard Spahr’s Hiring Committee and its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council.
