Ballard Spahr Nominated for Colorado Lawyers Committee Law Firm of the Year

September 25, 2023

Ballard Spahr is one of four law firms nominated for the Colorado Lawyers Committee (CLC) Law Firm of the Year, an award that recognizes significant pro bono contributions to CLC projects.

In 2022, attorneys and staff in Ballard Spahr’s Colorado offices donated a cumulative 535.5 hours of no-cost legal services to nine CLC projects. Additionally, four Ballard Spahr employees are involved in two of the teams nominated for Team of the Year: Hate Crimes Education Program (Finance Partner Kimberly C. Reed, Finance Associates Ethan A. Anderson and Anjie Zhi, and paralegal Christine Snider) and Nonprofit Legal Audit Clinic (Business and Transactions Associate Chad P. Jimenez and Ms. Zhi).

CLC is a 45-year-old nonprofit, non-partisan consortium of over 70 Colorado law firms dedicated to providing and increasing opportunities for children, low-income individuals, and other disadvantaged communities through pro bono legal advocacy, negotiation, and litigation. Last year, more than 930 volunteers contributed over 6,700 hours and $3.02 million worth of time to 29 projects and task forces. The awards ceremony will be held September 27.

Firmwide, Ballard Spahr contributes more than 50,000 hours each year to pro bono service, ensuring that clients have a voice and a legal advocate regardless of their ability to pay. Attorneys and staff partner with agencies throughout the country to provide free legal services to meet the most pressing needs of their communities.
