99 Ballard Spahr Attorneys, 49 Practices Recognized by Chambers USA in 2022 Edition

June 1, 2022

Chambers USA 2022, a highly respected guide to leading lawyers and law firms, has recognized 99 Ballard Spahr attorneys and 49 firm practices—highlighted by continued preeminence in consumer financial services and a new national ranking in gaming law.

Ballard Spahr is also one of only two firms ranked in the highest tier (Band 1) nationwide for all three of the Financial Services Regulation: Consumer Finance categories—Compliance, Litigation, and Enforcement and Investigations—affirming the strength of the firm’s powerhouse Consumer Financial Services practice. The CFS Group has ranked in Band 1 every year since Chambers USA introduced a national category for consumer finance more than 15 years ago.

The firm once again is ranked in Band 1 nationwide for First Amendment Litigation, further solidifying its status as one of the preeminent firms in the country for media and entertainment law.

Ballard Spahr achieved a national ranking in Gaming and Licensing for the first time, reflecting the firm’s strong and growing capabilities in advising gaming industry clients. The firm also drew nationwide rankings again this year for Political Law; Projects: PPP; Real Estate; REITs: Maryland Counsel; and Retail. These rankings reflect the firm’s national-level strength in representing clients on political and public policy matters, as well as financing and construction of P3 and major real estate projects.

In state categories, Ballard Spahr ranked in Band 1 in Pennsylvania for: Banking and Finance; Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation; Litigation: Securities; Litigation: White-Collar Crime and Government Investigations; Real Estate; and Real Estate: Zoning/Land Use; as well as in Maryland for Real Estate. The firm ranked in Band 1 in Washington, D.C., for the Media and Entertainment category.

The 99 Chambers-ranked Ballard Spahr attorneys listed below span the firm’s practices and offices.

Chambers USA annual rankings are compiled through client interviews, peer reviews, and independent research. The rankings reflect criteria considered most valued by clients, including legal ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial awareness, diligence, and value.
