With nearly 30 years of experience leading complex intellectual property-based transactions, Steven's practice primarily focuses on acting as outside general counsel to companies in the technology, media, and science sectors. He advises and counsels Boards of Directors and C-suite management on high-level intellectual property decisions and strategies. His fundamental practice covers patent and know-how collaboration and licensing relationships, entertainment and media, software-based technologies, Cleantech, supply and distribution, contests and sweepstakes, venture financing, hybrid joint ventures, and M&A.
Steven also serves as outside general counsel to various music and film production companies, performing arts venues, online gaming companies and platforms, and digital content creators. He advises on a wide range of strategic initiatives and legal issues including: the sale, acquisition, and licensing of intellectual property assets, talent and influencer agreements, vendor agreements, and data protection matters. He assists with prepublication review, advertising and marketing compliance, navigating legal considerations around artificial intelligence, and, generally, regarding emerging technologies in the technology, entertainment, and media spaces.
