Ron Vogel is an Intellectual Property attorney who focuses his practice on patent prosecution and intellectual property (IP) transactional matters across a wide range of technologies, with a particular concentration in the life sciences. Prior to joining Ballard Spahr, he worked at an Am Law 100 firm, where he prepared and prosecuted U.S. patent applications. In this role, Ron also performed transactional, patent portfolio, and freedom to operate analysis, reviewed and drafted agreements for biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, and supported life sciences patent litigation.
Prior to his legal career, Ron worked as a Wall Street credit analyst. He later worked as a chemist in the consumer products industry and at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. Ron has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemical engineering and is completing a second master's degree in immunology/bioinformatics.
