Alaura Valley is a finance associate who focuses her practice on housing and real estate finance matters. Prior to joining Ballard Spahr, she worked at a full service firm in Seattle, where she represented both borrowers and lenders in real estate development financing transactions. In this role, she also advised targets in middle-market acquisitions, acted as general counsel to operating businesses, negotiated joint venture agreements, and developed creative solutions for startup clients operating in the mortgage lending and short-term rental markets.
Alaura gained additional experience as a corporate associate at a business and litigation firm, as well as through a legal internship with the Washington House of Representatives Office of Program Research. Before attending law school, Alaura was the program manager of a professional home organizing business, where she assisted the owner with review and negotiations of vendor and customer contracts.
