Juan Pereira has nearly 10 years of experience representing lenders and investors in commercial real estate finance transactions, with an emphasis on multifamily housing finance transactions involving the government-sponsored enterprises (GSEs) Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Juan’s clients include some of the nation’s largest and most active commercial real estate finance firms, including Delegated Underwriting and Servicing (DUS) lenders and Optigo Lenders authorized to underwrite, close, and deliver loans on Fannie Mae’s and Freddie Mac’s behalf, respectively.

Juan has successfully closed hundreds of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac financings for acquisition, renovation, and/or refinancing of facilities such as apartment complexes and seniors housing, including affordable housing. Juan uses his experience and strong command of the legal issues to guide clients through finance transactions structured under Fannie Mae’s DUS, MAH, DLA Mezz, and Small Loans products and Freddie Mac’s CME and TAH products. Juan also handles conventional construction, acquisition, renovation, and refinancing transactions.

Clients have come to rely without reservation on Juan’s command of the law, exceptional attention to detail, skill at organizing legal and logistical tasks to maximize efficiencies, and unfailing record of meeting deadlines – where he routinely goes the extra mile to close deals on the client’s timeline. Juan excels at working with lenders and their borrower clients to break down complex issues and voluminous documentation into understandable segments and explain legal concepts in practical and accessible terms.

Juan frequently presents seminars and workshops on GSE financing transactions for professional organizations, such as the Mortgage Bankers Association. These presentations include multi-day sessions for specific real estate finance and investment firms.
