BK Katzmann is an associate in the firm’s Finance Department, focusing their practice on public finance matters. BK excelled as a 2021 Ballard Spahr Summer Associate and has experience drafting underwriter opinion letters, preparing presentations on key tax issues in public finance, and analyzing state-by-state developments in municipal bankruptcy law.

Prior to law school, BK worked as a teacher in public and private schools and administered nonprofit programming. BK draws from their prior experiences to analyze complex legal issues and develop practical solutions for nonprofit, public, and corporate clients.

Pro Bono Experience

BK maintains an active pro bono practice. Their work includes forming LLCs and 501(c)(3) organizations, drafting expungement petitions, aiding with unemployment applications, and filing name change petitions for transgender clients. As coordinator for Temple Law’s Name Change Project, BK collaborated with Einstein Healthcare Network’s PRIDE Program to significantly expand outreach in the Philadelphia community.
