Brandon Hegstrom concentrates his practice on intellectual property law, with a particular focus on patent matters. A registered patent attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, he brings many years of experience handling complex technologies, including semiconductor devices, network technologies, telecommunication and broadband technologies, cable and internet technologies, bioinformatic and genomic technologies, medical device technologies, cloud computing technologies, and emerging innovations in machine learning and artificial intelligence.
Before joining Ballard Spahr, Brandon served as a senior patent attorney at a Global 200 law firm, where he managed diverse patent portfolios, led teams of attorneys and legal professionals, and advised clients on comprehensive IP protection strategies. His practice also includes clearance and freedom-to-operate analyses, as well as strategic support for litigation and mergers and acquisitions.
