Samuel Erlanger is a New York Intellectual Property associate and registered patent attorney who focuses his practice on IP litigation matters. Sam’s experience covers all aspects of patent litigation before federal district courts and the International Trade Commission, including pre-suit infringement investigations, motion practice, discovery, Markman proceedings, depositions, and expert reports. He has worked on cutting-edge technology in computer hardware and software, automotive systems, Fintech applications, audio and video processing, semiconductors, and consumer electronics. Sam also has significant patent litigation experience involving non-practicing entities in the Eastern and Western Districts of Texas.
Prior to joining Ballard Spahr, Sam worked at a premier patent litigation boutique law firm where he engaged in technical patent litigation disputes and advised corporate clients on how to best monetize their patent portfolios. Before attending law school, Sam worked at JPMorgan Chase & Co., where he supported software and hardware development in ATM and debit card technologies.
